    Okay as the subject states I plan to buy a USB Gaming Headset for XboxONE originally it's for PC I'm just wondering will it work with the XboxONE if I plug it in one of the USB Sockets on the back?

    USB Headset

    So i bought an Xbox one today for some multiplayer gaming.

    Plenty of usb ports but usb headset won't work.

    Apparently i have to buy a new headset with a 3.5km Jack and plug it into the 'wireless' controller making it a wired controller.

    How bizarre that in 2018 MS don't allow usb accessories to connect to Xbox one usb ports.

    I really don't want cables hanging from the wireless controller. Will digital headsets work if plugged into the optical port on the console?

    The micro-usb port on the controller is not designed for use for headphones.

    The Xbox One Controller is designed for using a headset with a 3.5mm jack. There is no general USB support on the Xbox One console for USB headsets.

    You'll need to buy a headset that's compatible with the console.

    No it will not work using the usb ports, make sure its compatible with Xbox one, you will also need the headset adapter to use it with the console.
