The subscription for xbox live was paid but it still says that i do not have access to xbox live

They can access xbox live only through your gamertag because it is the only one with access to it. If they want their own gamertags to access live, they will need a paid subscription.

Although, you do need an active Gamepass subscription to access the games it comes with, you do not need an Xbox Live Gold
subscription (unless you want to play online, then it is required to have gold).

Here is the Difference between the two:

Xbox Live Gold is a paid subscription that enables you to be able to play online multiplayer with your friends around the world. Xbox Live Gold also gives you access to Games with Gold and Deals with Gold.

(Gold Live allows for multiplayer access, party chat and games with gold.)




Xbox Gamepass is basically a paid subscription that enables your account to have access to the Xbox Gamepass Library of games that you are able to install and play just by maintaining your subscription. Xbox
Gamepass is for Xbox One only.

(Gamepass gives access to over 100 games you can play for duration of subscription.)

Thanks for reaching out to us! When it comes to having a past due balance on a subscription to Xbox Live, it does suspend the account if the balance is not paid. This would prevent the use of Xbox Live for any access to multiplayer gaming but does not prevent
the use of apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc on an Xbox One or an Xbox 360 as you solely need internet connection and have an active subscription for those services.
