    I set up 2fa a long time ago when they would call phones instead of just texting it and I used my landline, but I got rid of that landline and now I need to reset my password that I forgot. I have access to email accounts linked with it, I am able to sign into my xbox account linked with it, I know the debit and credit cards that were used to purchase things on the account, and I can answer any security questions that the account may have. I can't do anything at all with the account because it wants to text the landline I no longer have when I try to reset my account.

    I apologize for the trouble but we can only submit a recovery form if there is no two-step verification. You may need to regain access to the number/email that was used as two-step verification.

    The headaches of change. 2FA is not as secure as people think either with SIM cloning etc. and unlocked mobile phones.

    Since it takes a month for the phone number change process, would customer service be able to change my settings for me or do I have to wait?

    Xbox account recovery is a joke Xbox needs actual humans to do it not a robot

    I've done the recovery request and everything it's @outlook.com and my recovery phone number i no longer have access to anymore and I don't think there is a email on there connected

    The phone/number I’m using isn’t the one associated with the account. The one that’s on there is my previous phone number that I no longer have. The support team usually asks if I have access to the number on the account. so, I know it’s not the one I’m currently using. I guess I could barrow someone’s phone and try to log in real quick, is that what your suggesting.?
