I need your help.

I originally went to the Xbox support section with this and found I could not create a thread, nor was there a thread that I found that helped me with this specific problem.

I had my account setup with auto renewal on, and I no longer want auto renewal on (For I don't want/need gold anymore)

When I try to cancel auto renewal it says something along the lines of not being able to cancel until the charge to the account is paid. I also cannot remove my paypal because it is attached to a active membership. (It is not my personal PayPal, so I myself
can't log into the paypal and do anything that way)

Is there anyway I can fix this problem without paying? I don't really want to pay for something I am not going to use, and I thought maybe someone might have the answer on here.

^^ agreed, I was disapointed in how easy the game is. If you have ever played an RPG, it's cake with whip cream on top. I have a 65 and still can find something to do though, it's definitely full of content, I cannot take that away. I think they did a great
job of giving us a vast world.

These guys have pretty much nailed it. It takes a while, it is enjoyable despite some glitchiness, I have not played the Fallout games but from hanging out here and learning a little from these fine folks, I think I might give them a try at some point.

I've done the FPS thing, this is more my style, at least in gaming.

I like the expansiveness of Skyrim, though now I've been from one end to the other several million times, it seems a bit smaller, and I am wishing for new places to see. Just as in my real life, familiarity is inversely proportional to scope and scale.
This is my first ES game, and pretty sure my first from Bethesda. So far so good. Enjoy whatever path you take Revive.

 

Sounds like you may have an outstanding balance.

Your only option is to phone support for your region & speak to them as they are the only ones who can deal with billing issues.

 

Unfortunately if it's already past the auto renewal date then you're stuck with it and won't be seeing that money again whether you use the service or not. They don't keep track of whether you utilize the service so there's very little hope in claiming you'd
want your money back and haven't once used the service since the renewal. It's in the Terms of Use you agree to while applying for the auto renew.

As far as I know the best you can do is just go to your account and click the billing and payment option, that or the subscription option(I don't remember if there is one of those). From there cancel the auto renew. Only after having done that would I try
phoning support and see if there's anything they can do.

Who knows, if you cancel it soon enough you may be refunded the money of the service. In an entirely seperate situation I cancelled a magazine subscription after they sent me the first magazine of the new cycle. I wasn't expecting it because I had no idea
I was signed up for the automatic renewal. I called that day and cancelled the subscription and was actually refunded my $25. They tried winning be back by offering small gifts and a free year subscription to any other magazine using that company.

Anyway, I meant to edit the first paragraph and say that it's highly unlikely you'll be refunded.

 

You could add a credit card, pay off the balance, and then turn off auto-renewal. I don't think you're going to get out of that balance you owe them. Best to pay it off and chalk it up to a crummy learning experience.

 

I know how you feel, Micro Soft has the nerve not only to make people pay to log into a network called XBL, but the audacity to call it GOLD, as if its privilege to interact and play online. Anyways, had it with ALL the problems, from 360 to xb1, recently

You want XBL Gold.. Buy a 3 - 12 month XBL Gold Card. If you want to purchase DLC etc. Buy a card. For corporate policies (Fine Print) will rob you blind!

 

If no joy when contacting Support.

I would contact the Credit Card Company and put a Stop Payment against them. Also contact the person who's Paypal account your using (Note. Use your own accounts) and them stop it there as well.

 

^^ He hasn't put a credit card up for him to stop payment, he wouldn't have an outstanding bill if he had a credit card on his account. Furthermore, advising him (or anyone) to stop payment for a bill you/he/she/they owe is rather silly. You think Microsoft
is just gonna say, "Well, he/she owes us money.... but who cares? Let's let it slide." Hellllllooooo collections agency.

 

I don't think he's talking about stopping payment on what he owes, but rather on the upcoming charge for gold that they won't let him cancel.
