    okay so i have xbox game pass for console on my xbox one. I recently downloaded among us on my xbox using game pass for console. then i decided to buy to own the game for 4.99 (it was one dollar cheaper since i had xbox game pass for console). now i have uninstalled the games, reset my xbox, hard reset my xbox, and even though i have paid to own the game it is still saying in order to play online i have to get xbox game pass ultimate even though I OWN the game now so it should just let me play like normal..? please send help. i know it is also only 4 dollars but as a broke teenager i would like to not have that money go to waste

    okay NEW follow up. i think i have solved the problem and i am asking you if it is right. so you don’t need xbox live gold to play free to play games right..? i don’t have xbox live gold currently becuase i deleted call of duty like 6 months ago and have just been playing fortnite (A free to play game) with my friends since then really. due to this i unsubscribed from xbox live gold. but now i need xbox live gold back to play guys i had to buy like among us..? Lastly would getting xbox live gold allow me to play online with other games i got on the gamepass..? Thank you. and please let me know

    As I told you without a Live Gold subscription it is not possible to play online, and Game Pass ultimate has Live Gold among the benefits, either Live Gold or game pass ultimate, or you will not be able to play online.

    yes i can see my purchase for 4.34 total and i own the game but everytime i get on the time and i click to play online, it says i need to upgrade my game pass subscription to ultimate even though i own this game without the pass since i bought the full game

    Gold will let you play on any paid or Game Pass games (but if you're playing games from Game Pass it's cheaper to get a Game Pass Ultimate subscription). Only free-to-play games will allow you to play without Gold.
