I need to send my Xbox 360 E in for repairs - If they need to send me a new one, will I lose ...

I am going to send my Xbox 360 E in for repairs because it won't turn on. If they need to send me a new one will I lose all of the progress in my games? The Xbox person I talked to said that it is all automatically saved on the Cloud but I'm not sure if
that's true or not so I'm asking here to make sure. If it's not, is there any way that I can somehow save my memory?

Same thing as they told me I reckon, can't do anything with it, need to send it away for repairs but they send you a new xbox in the process but ohh wait you have to pay £500 to get them to send you a new one and then they refund you when you send the faulty
one back!!!!

 

Controller/Console problem?

Okay. I unplugged my external hard-drive, so I'll see how it works now. Though it wouldn't surprise me if I needed to send it in for repairs, as my console is a day one version lol. So what would happen if I do that? Would I lose any of my saved games/apps?
Sorry if I sound ignorant, I've never had to send one in for repairs before.

 

If you have a hard drive, you'll need to take out of the console before sending it in. All your data is stores on the hard drive. If you've been using a flash drive, just keep that. All of your data will remain on your storage device and will work just fine
on another console if they send a different one.

 

I don't have a hard drive and I haven't been using a flash drive, I've just been saving directly to the Xbox.

 

cloud saves are for gold members only anyway so unless you have those saves backed up on a flash drive then chances are you will loose those saves as 9 times out of ten they send you back another 360 of the same version (you send in a 4 gig you get a 4 gig,
send in a 250 gig, you get a 250 gig, etc). do you have a 4 gig or a 250/320 gig model? if you have the 250/320 gig just remove the drive, lay the system on it's side and there is an access door on one of the side panels, pop it open, and remove the drive.
if you have the 4 gig model then there is nothing we on the forums can do sorry.

then basically yes you are gonna loose everything but only the saves your game score, anything you ever downloaded to that account will be on the live servers. just recover your game tag to the repaired system, you only loose your saves sadly.

 

Wow, that actually makes me so angry, especially because it only stopped turning on after following the steps of a support person when trying to fix another problem.
