  1. I Need to Know Specifically What a Factory Reset Will Do (Lengthy Post, Many Questions)

So I have run into a startup error. It's an E200 00000074 00000000. Which when I put it into the error code search on the microsoft support website, just tells me "Occurs when using the xbox one", well thanks that doesn't tell me a whole lot. Before it had
occurred I ejected a game that was still playing. It was on the home screen and I had gone to the dashboard, but the game was still running when I ejected it. Then I put in another game and it would not run, just kept telling me something went wrong. So I
turned off the console to fix it and then this whole error showed up. And I have gone through every solution it has told me to go through. The restart, the unplug, all that. Except factory reset.

Factory Reset is the one thing I have seen people on forums say fixes it. But I want to be 100% sure before I do it. So far I have read that it deletes all accounts, saved games, and settings. It apparently does something to home xbox associates but I don't
really know what that is so I'll ask about it later in the post. I have also read that it does not affect cloud saves. But what I have read says everything is saved to the cloud if you save and are online when you do it. I also have an external hardrive where
as far as I know everything is downloaded onto(but some stuff might still be on the console itself) But I need to know a few things before I do it.

    1) Is there a limit to the cloud saves? Because for example recently I bought skyrim special edition, now I have been saving in it, but I haven't gone into the details of the game on the xbox screens, so are those saves in the cloud? I was online when I
saved them, but as far as I know I haven't like selected anything to make them go to the cloud and it hasn't told me it was saved to the cloud. Is there like a hidden limit because I have hundreds of gigabytes saved and I don't want to find out it was only
    partially saved or something.

    2) Will I have to redownload everything? So I have like 30 games on physical copy, and like 30 games on digital download, so will I have to go through and individually download each one? And most of those digitals are on my external drive so will it download
as a whole or the individual games on it?

    3) Will it affect the external drive? Like will it also wipe saved games on games that are downloaded to my external drive? Which also raises the question, if I downloaded games to my external drive, but then played and saved on them afterwards, does that
mean the saves just automatically went to the external drive? Or is the game downloaded to the external drive, but the latest saves are on the console?

    4) When it says it will delete all accounts, which I only have one, does that mean it deletes the xbox account, or just the account on the console? Meaning will it just straight delete my xbox account, or merely remove it from the console for me to put back
on it? And with that does it mean it will keep all my friends and stuff, so like I just have to put my account back on the xbox and the friends list will come with it?

    5) What is the home xbox associations? Like what does that do because I don't get any results on it when I google it? And are there any downsides or harmful effects to deleting that? Are the effects permanent, or is it just something that would more or less
be removed from the console and then be put back on after everything is done?

    6) Am I able to just remove my external and internal hard drives, and then do the factory reset? Because I am fairly sure I haven't downloaded anything in between me playing the games and then getting this error so I can't imagine there is some bad data
or something. Would it be possible just to unplug my external hard drive and remove my internal hard drive and then do the factory reset, so that it only affects the console(I am fine with re doing the settings and downloading the apps) but leaves my game
data in tact, so that I can just plug them back in and not have to re download them or do anything? I know that likely wouldn't work, but I would at least like to know if it is an option so that I can avoid a lot of trouble.

    7) Why did this happen? I have yet to get an answer, no support, no posts, and no forums or comments I have seen have said what this error is. I just want to know, what this error specifically is, what it means, why it happened, what caused it, and why it
requires so much to fix. I just want clarity on this error because the support really doesn't tell me what the error even is or what would have caused it.

The only abnormal thing I did right beforehand was eject a running game, but I have done that before with no problems, and the console worked after I did it. I was able to put in another game, and the error said something was wrong over and over, but the
console was still running, I could still open up menus and stuff, so it didn't immediately break it. It was only after I turned the console off that it had started this error and made an issue, which leads me to believe it had nothing to do with the game being
ejected, especially since it was labeled as a startup error and not a hardware error or something more clear that would signal a disk drive break. If it helps my xbox one is an original xbox one, and was bought on launch day so it is however old since the
xbox one was launched, but it hasn't had any problems.

I would really appreciate some help here because I have never run into something like this on my xbox one and everything I have seen on this issue only shows people having to return their console or factory reset, neither of which
are preferable options. I know it is a lot of questions and I appreciate any help, but I would really prefer answers to every part of my questions and a clear answer, not just saying the vague things xbox support menus like to say. If you can't answer every
question that's fine, I would be happy if you just answer which ever ones you can, but please in your answer note which question you are answering so I can keep track, thank you.

    :)

    Sick of this bull!

    Quick questions...

Can you post the info that I know the Live people on here will ask to post?

Have you tried connecting directly to modem?

If that works, can you factory reset your router?

Error 0x87dd0003 appears when trying to access Microsoft store from Xbox One S

    Hello!

Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attention I recommend
How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console
. If it continues to act unusually you may want to try a Soft Factory Reset:

How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
(Make sure you select the Keep My Games & Apps option to avoid lengthy downloads). When you do any kind of Factory Reset you must know you're Microsoft Account
Email and Password to recover your gamertag afterwards.

    Hope this helps

    Hey,

    Read this link. http://support.xbox.com/en-IE/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

    This is from that link:

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

    • Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted. You should use this option when selling or
gifting the console to someone else. You should only use this option as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.
    • Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. This will save you from downloading or reinstalling
the large game files. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps and save Reset and
      remove everything
      as a last resort.
    • Cancel. To back out of this screen, simply select the Cancel button. No action has been taken at this point. This is a safe exit from this screen.

You will obviously choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Disconnect your external drive first. A factory reset will not affect that. Also, in regards to the accounts, it will delete them off the console only. You will be able to sign in with all of those accounts on the console again as well as any other xbox
    or PC.

    Can't add account.

Just a quick question. Is this a new Xbox console you're setting up or did you factory reset one you've had for a while? If you did do a factory reset on a console you've had for a while, how long have you had it, what model is it, and why did you need
to do a reset? Sorry for the extra questions, but trying to troubleshoot any possible thing I can think of

    32 Accounts Already on Xbox?

    Hello there,

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums! As previously mentioned by the Ambassador, you might want to try

    Factory Resetting
the console. When you factory reset the console, it will remove any accounts that are currently downloaded onto the console and depending on if you do a Soft Factory (Games & Apps) or Full Factory reset it will remove games and apps from
    the console.

If you have any other questions feel free to reply back letting us know. Thank you again for posting on Xbox Forums!

    Error reading game discs

    Hello VgSVgS,

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this issue, have you tried to Factory Reset the console? If not, I would recommend trying to perform a
Soft Factory Reset of the console which will keep your games and apps on the console so that you do not have to reinstall
them after it resets. Once you've done this, it should remedy the issue, if it does not you may need to try the "Delete Everything" option for the Factory Reset.

If you have any other questions afterwards, please feel free to reply back letting us know. Thank you again for posting on Xbox Forums.

Hello Xbox! I only have 1 question why isnt next gen like current generation?

You need to be a lot more specific as to what your question is. In what way is it not like Xbox one? Give as many details as possible.
