I need to file a claim for my Xbox I've bought the extended 3 year warranty with the game

Here are some of the troubleshooting steps that you may want to perform before submitting a service request:

Inspect the power cable—Do you have a spare power cable that you can use to test? Also, is the power cable completely and firmly connected to both the power outlet and console?

Check the power outlet—Does anything else power on when connected to the same outlet? Try plugging in another electronic device to see if it works. And if you're using a power strip or surge protector, make sure it's receiving power through its outlet too.

If you've tried all possible troubleshooting steps and you need servicing,

get started on your request by signing in at https://support.microsoft.com/devices and selecting Register new device. After you've registered, you’ll see the warranty status for your device.

Basically what the others mentioned when you buy an console out of region you take the risk

And yes the warranty is only honoured in region this also applies with amazon

If your friends purchased a extended warranty like I did it does only come with a year warranty

And no there is no e3 3 year announcement

If you can provide someone address in the US the warranty would be honoured as most companies

And yes warranties are region specific as they wouldn't have a us xbox in South africa

If your "friends bought extended warranty and i n southn Africa then they would be covered under south African warranty

This is in your documentation

You should've followed your friends example and purchased a console in region

Or if they had a friend in the usa

If they purchased out of region it wontnshow up as out of region until.tjeu try and claim us warranty out of region

My xbox one s is covered under 3 years bit only because I bought the extended warranty and yes it shows up on my xbox account

You'll find it's always been a 1 year warranty since the original xbox & it's a one year warranty everywhere.

I've been with xbox/xbox live since launch,doesn't give me special exceptions when it comes down to the consoles standard warranty.

Sorry but I refuse to believe someone who claims to have been with xbox for 10 years would not know this.

You'll only get a one year warranty with the other consoles unless you pay extra for an extended warranty.

While you cannot extend a second time online, I've called in and done so on more than one occasion. My Halo 3 console is still under extended warranty, as is my Resident Evil 5 console.

Has anyone purchased the extended warranty from Microsoft? The only extended plan that seems to be available for my Xbox One is called "Microsoft Complete - Xbox One - 2 years". It costs $69.99 and states that it "covers all hardware issues for 2 years from
the date of purchase". I was under the impression that the extended warranty was for a total of 3 years. Is this a typo in the plan description or is the warranty only for 2 years?
