I need some help regarding claiming my windows 10 edition of Minecraft.

Thanks for asking this question on the Xbox forums. In regard to any codes for a free version of Minecraft for Windows 10 with the purchase of Minecraft Java version, that would need to come directly from Mojang. According to their website, "Players
who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition before October 19th, 2018 can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free by visiting their Mojang account."

Should you like to check your ability to claim this code, I recommend following the instructions provided in the Mojang Support article entitled
Minecraft for Windows 10.
If it is determined that you're not eligible, then you would need to purchase that particular version in order to use it.

We need to gather some more information regarding your issue. What Minecraft game are you playing? Is it Minecraft Java or Minecraft for Windows 10 Edition? Also, on what platform did you had this problem?

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. the promotion for buying the Minecraft: Java Edition and receiving the Windows 10 version for free is only valid if the Java Edition was purchased prior to October 19, 2018, so that is no longer
valid at this time. If you did make the purchase of the Java Edition prior to that date, you would need to go to your Mojang account in order to claim the gift code. For further information concerning this, you may check out the topic
