I need some help connecting to xbox live using mobile broadband via a laptop running windows 8.

The ethernet port on my old laptop, running windows 7 died, so I have got a new laptop but it is running windows 8 and for some reason it will now not connect to xbox live. Never had a problem with either windows 7 or vista. Just need someone who knows windows
8 to give me some help. Thanks

Windows 8 connecting to Xbox Live through laptop

I am having a big problem of connecting my xbox live account through my laptop. i use to be able to before i updated my laptop to windows 8 but now i wont connect. I am very frustrated and perplexed because the day before i had windows 7 and it worked but
now that i have windows 8 it wont connect to xbox live . I need help Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows 8 ICS Trouble

Hey guys,

I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to Xbox live via my laptop due to windows 8. Before upgrading to windows 8, I used to be able to connect to Xbox live through my laptop on windows Xp and windows 7. Since upgrading to windows 8 i can no longer do this,
which is rather frustrating. I connect to Xbox live with a 3 mobile internet dongle plugged into my laptop. I then share this internet connection with the Xbox via a ethernet cable to connect to Xbox live. This was the case with windows Xp & 7. I do the exact
same process with windows 8 but I cannot connect to xbox live. I have tried countless times using various methods. I should note that on the xbox live connection test it passes the first 'Xbox 360 to Network' section, but then fails on the 'Network
to Internet' section.

This is the status I get after failing the connection test:

W: 0000 - 000B

X: 0600 - F001

Y: 0000 - 0000

Z: 0000 - 0000

ID: 0004 - 0000

L: 0015 - 10F1

Q: 8007 - 0435

T: Wired

A: 192.168.137.3/255.255.255.0

G: 192.168.137.1

D: 192.168.137.1/0.0.0.0

So does anyone have any idea what my problem is, and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated, thanks very much in advance.

Have you tried entirely restarting the laptop and unplugging/reinstalling the wireless adapter?

is this a mobile broadband dongle? if so you would need to use you pc/laptop as a gateway and enable ics (internet connection sharing) then yo would have to connect your Xbox to your pc/laptop via Ethernet

Try turning off your firewall on your laptop/PC and see if the connection gets through that way. The software for the dongle simply connects you to the Three Network but its Windows and your firewall that manages how your internet connection is shared out

Mobile broadband isn't the best way to connect to live I'm afraid. When you run the Xbox live test where does it fail?
