so I just got a $50 microsoft gift card I get home and I type the code into the redeem code box and I get the money added to my account then I go to the xbox gold sale and I press on the "join now" button for xbox gold 3 months. than this message pops up on
my screen.

Hey there ikirto!

When did you obtain your Gold membership? If it was recent, it might take a bit to push through and recognize that you have a Gold membership. If it's been a day or so and you're still having issues, I would recommend reaching out to our

phone team for further assistance. You can ask them to remove your current Gold membership and provide you with a replacement token. Hopefully this "jump starts" your Gold status and lets you access games and parties.

It sounds like you just recently changed some information on your account. If that is the case, you'll actually be locked out of some activities, mostly purchases, for 30 days until the change over is complete. You may be able to buy a digital code from
microsoftstore.com and redeem that on your account in the meantime.

be sure you are using the correct Phone number, if the Phone number isn't working I believe you should be able to change it to email

No. You would want to turn off auto-renewal before it renews if you can't pay. Otherwise, it will start the new subscription and attempt to charge you. If they are unable to charge you, you will accrue a balance that needs to be paid and your account will
be suspended until the balance is paid off.

You can cancel the auto renewal of the subscription at any time, like now, so that you don't have to remember. it won't cancel this period, just the renewal.
