Please try remove all the cables from the console and power outlet and then re connect them all all to see if that helps.

Yeah, HDMI ports on PC's/laptops are hdmi out only ports, so will only send out the signal to a monitor or TV. You would need to check if your laptop supports hdmi in, as Smwutches stated it is very rare to get one with a hdmi in port. Your best option
would be to just connect the console to a TV or monitor.
