I need help with changing a child account

So I have an Adult account and a child account because when I made the account I was younger. I'm tired of having to switch from one account to another to change my settings. Its also causing glitches with buying dlc on Backwards compatibility titles. I
realize I could just start playing on the adult account, or make a new one, but I don't want to lose my achievement progress, or my game progress. Is there any way to make the child account unrestricted and family free so that I can just play my games without
worrying about switching profiles?

I need help changing a child account to an adult account

So about two years ago I sold my friend my Xbox One, and helped him make an account with me being the "parent" and him being the "child". Well now he is experiencing issues with playing certain games, being told that he is "restricted" from playing them,
however I have put no restrictions on his account. Now we are trying to change his account status from child to adult, and we are having no luck (and his birthdate says that he should be an adult); and I don't want to remove him from my family because we tried
that once and it deleted his account. If anyone could explain to me on how to do this, I would really appreciate it.

 

Account in Child Mode but there is no Parent account?

So my account is randomly in child mode and I cant join a club. Tried changing settings but i need the parent account to remove it, but the funny thing is, is there is no parent account and never has been. Please Help

 

You would have to promote the account to an adult account. To do so, the age on the account needs to be 18.
