Uhh... Why should we now be entitled to free gamertag changes?

Nothing, but a hell of a marketing campaign. "How do you change a gamertag? Just do this, and today it's free", while the... other guy... can't change names at all, we are getting a free one.

They do offer a free one upfront, but they also auto assign us our names that are stupid.

I don't think they need to offer it free though, just cool idea, but not required i'm just glad they are giving the names back.

Gamertag Problem

Changing gamertag needs you to pay , I created my account before mcpe 0.15.0 released , but you need a name for multiplayer , and if i login to xbox live , my gamertag will be my name , but every name with space is invaild in the game , well my gamertag
have space , if i log out , i cant get achievements . can you let the mcpe players change their gamertag for free for once?

No one can free up a gamertag for you. The gamertag will be freed up if with the original owner changes the name or if they do not sign in for 5 years (starting last year).

The change for free works only if the first gamertag was a random name created by the system. If you changed that name to your actual gamertag then you already used the free Token for that. Any other change would be charged. Hope that helps.

You cannot just request a free Forced Name Change, you need one of your friends to
file a complaint on your gamertag.

Why is my name Prettybunny225 and not the name that I changed it to. My gamertag should be (TTVH3ntAiGod it's not really inappropriate it's just a name if you let me do another change gamertag for free(I used all of mine) I will change it)

to be clear at least 800 ms points is needed on each account

800 for the original account to free up the name

800 for the new account to change the name to the new name unless you haven't created it in which case you will receive 1 free name change if it is within the first 30days

and only on randomly created gamertags names
