I need help/information

I am wanting to buy the Xbox One S for my kids but I am not a gaming person and know nothing about them. Reading the description of this system it sounds like instead of going to the store and buying games everything must be done online. Is this true? Can
the kids use this system without internet access?

You should just be able to plug the external hard drive into the new console and not have to re install the games.

Hi i need information i just brought a new xbox one s to replace my day one xbox one and i have all my games on a external hard drive when i plug in the external drive to my new xbox one will i lose all my games and have to re-download them which wont be
fun it will take days is there away to backup my external drive first then plug the drive into the new xbox one let it format the drive then reload all my games back onto the external drive.

 

You'll need to connect online when you first set the console up for any updates but as long as you by disc copies of games you don't have to be connected online.

Just check the back of the games case to make sure it's not an online only game.

You can download games & if you set the console to offline mode & as the home console in the settings then the majority of digital games will work without being connected online as well.

 

Just to add to what Daft Badger has said, you may on occasion need to download updates when you get new games. At least that's what I gather from different posts on this forum in the past. Some games will need the most recent system update. I could be wrong
on that, but don't think I am.

I will also add that the Xbox One/S is a very connected console. It is quite limited in it's capabilities without an internet connection.
