    Have you tried Unplugging your modem and wait 30 seconds plug it back up to turn it back on. Then on your Xbox go to SYSTEM SETTINGS and run the NETWORK SETTINGS. It might be an IP address problem. Since your are receiving wi-fi from modem to your laptop.
