I need help adding my child’s profile to my family on the xBox one console

Hi. I am having a problem adding my child’s profile to my family on the xBox one console. Even though I go to family and try to add him there (not registered on the console yet) it adds him as a separate family. I can’t adjust his settings as his is
locked at 18+ unrestricted which is really not appropriate, but I can’t change his settings as it says I must login as an adult to change, which I am. I have removed his profile three times and retried under family, but doesn’t work. I have also reset the
console to factory settings then re-tried to add him to my family with no joy. Am I doing something wrong or missing a step? Surly if a profile is locked (awaiting an adult) it should be locked at the lowest access and not highest anyway?

Xbox Live Family Pack - Profiles on USB

I am considering upgrading my xbox live gold account to a family pack. I read the FAQ about the family pack and I noticed that to add existing profiles onto the family pack, the profiles must reside on the console with the primary profile.

My question is this: My family and I already store our profiles on USB drives. We have multiple xbox consoles in our house and we like to move our profiles easily between them. Will I need to move all of our profiles from the USB drives to the console
before I add them to the family plan? Or can I simply have the usb drives in the console with the profiles logged in when adding them to the family plan?

Any details on this would be greatly appreciated.

Xbox Account

I am the only member of my Microsoft family and I am an adult but it will not let me access my Xbox settings. Everytime I try to go to my Xbox profile or settings, it sends me to a support page about changing my child’s privacy settings. I just want to
change my Xbox gamertag. Please help!

I'm sorry to hear your having difficulties. I'm going to link the instructions on how to add a new member to a family (group) on Xbox One. The first link will contain instructions in regards to adding various types of accounts (360, One, etc..). I'm also

Thanks, does it take a while before the member can be selected in the family area? Maybe that is where I am going wrong. It is just empty... Will take another look tonight and see whether any of the above helps. Thank you.

Hello Dan,

There is no error displayed. I added Xbox Live account of my second child via Download Profile on Xbox. The account was added without a problem. Then I checked Settings > Family, but there was only an account of my first child. The same situation is on
my XBox Live Account (on the internet); under Security, Family...-->Privacy & Online Safety. There is only first child too.

Hello!

Is it possible that the account that you're trying to change the settings on could be a child account? If that is the case then you would need to long onto an adult account and add the child account to its family to be able to adjust the settings for the
child account. Take a look at this support article regarding adding a child account to a family.:
