I need a new power supply

well you can you don't understand how it works

If you are within the 30 day warranty period since your purchase of the console you can make a repair order send the psu in and get a brand new one

You do need to send it in

If you are beyond the 30 day you have to send it in for a replacement or buy it locally

Also, EbGames/Gamestop may have the part you need. Give them a try but bring in your old cord so they can match it up.

GameStop only carries power supplies for the slim console if someone has traded theirs in, so odd's are your local store will not have one (I work at one), you may be able to get one online though through places like amazon.com or ebay.com

I don't know of any store that sells just the part, and trying to find stuff like that on line can lead to fake parts and dangerous situations.

Try calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX and phone support may be able to help.

Ebay could have some new ones, you'll just have to search around.
