    I need a Mic But don’t need a headset


    lots of posts on this with no definitive answers.

    I have a 11.2.4 surround sound system which is superb for most games but i want to add a plug in annalogue mic.

    Is there a mic that i can purchase that will just work plugging in to the controller?

    I can buy a mic and wire and solder the 3.5mm jack myself but will this work.

    All thoughts and comments appreciated!!

    Hello there!

    Regarding your explanation, In order to set this up, you will need a specific setup. The Mic you use needs to have an AUX port somewhere on it. The headset you use needs to have a removable mic that connects via AUX port as well.

    Therefore, you will have the mic plugged in via USB for power, the Headset plugged into the controller, and your Mic connected to your headset via AUX cord.

    I understand you need help with setting up a mic to the Xbox.

    There are certain headsets or mic that can be connected to the Xbox wirelessly but that would depend on your headset if it has that capability. If your headset or mic is wired, you will really need a controller for that to be connected because only the controller has the 3.5mm jack.
