I must enter a credit card to download Xbox 360 Free Games?

Hello everyone,

So I have recently came back to the Xbox community and noticed Xbox now support backwards compatibility.

The free games for gold I can download perfectly fine but as soon as I attempt to download the free 360 game for the month I am prompt with a message saying I must have a credit card on my account to validate this purchase?

Anyone else having / had this issue as I don't really want to put my card details on,

Why is a credit card needed to download a FREE games with gold Xbox 360 Game? This is the most dumb and frustrating issue for games with gold. If on a Xbox 360 you don't need a credit card so why need it on the Xbox One. Some people do not want there credit
card on their account for one reason or another so why alienate an entire group of users? If it is free then make it free. I also tried on Xbox.com but the same result...must put in a CC on the account. Microsoft, get it together.

Is there ANY way to get FREE games without having to enter a CC?

If you are trying to download the 360 games from a xbox one or from here on xbox.com then you need to enter your credit/debit card details.

It's only if you are trying to download them from a 360 that you don't.

It's perfectly safe.Had my debit card linked to my account for 13 years without any issues.

 

I am trying to download the 360 games from my Xbox One. It's strange my friends said they never had to put their card details on to download the 360 games.

 

They must already have their payment details linked to their accounts.

It's impossible to download the 360 games from a Xbox One without linking your credit/debit card at the moment.

Another thing is that the account you are posting with is not gold so you wouldn't be able to download them anyway.

Yeah, as long as you have some type of payment option on your account you can download all the games with GWG onto your XB1, and you never even have to buy anything, just as long as you have a payment option.

 

but how do u select apayment option?
