I moved to Australia and my American 100V/50Hz Xbox One power supply exploded.

I moved to Australia from the US and took my Xbox One with me.

I had it plugged into a Crest US to Australia power adaptor and it just exploded. Not quite fire, but there was a flash of light, smoke, and the circuit breaker tripped. The light was still glowing white even after I unplugged it for a few minutes.

All of this happened without my Xbox One even being plugged into the power supply.

There is no way I am going to be able to use my American power supply here.

I am wondering if I could buy an Australian power supply from Microsoft. At the advice of my girlfriend, I popped into Target, popped into K-Mart, and popped into EB Games and none of them had an Xbox One power supply.

Amazon International has some, but only American ones.

    :)

Using a PAL Xbox 360 in Japan

So far, I know that Japanese consoles run on 100V @ 50Hz (E) or 100V @ 60Hz (W) power supplies, European consoles (at least, in the part of Europe I'm from) run on 230V @ 50Hz.

Considering the fact that my power supply can't go as low as 100V or even 110V, I would need to buy a Japanese 100V PSU (50 or 60Hz) with a 175W output (that's my console) instead of a converter or adaptater, is that what you meant?

Moving from US to Australia will my XBox One work?

We're moving from the USA to Australia and my son has an Xbox One with a power supply that says Input 100V-127V and output of 12V. It also mentions Microsoft Japan Co. Ltd. What would I need to make it work in Australia?

    Thanks in advance.

Power supplies for the original Xbox One are only designed to run in the region they are sold in. (source)

Microsoft does not sell Xbox One power supplies separately like other accessories... for some reason.

However, you should be able to request for one by contacting Xbox support (via phone or chat). I'm
not sure how much they will charge you for one, but they should give you the rundown.

Emigrating from UK to Australia with Xbox One

Australia uses the same mains electricity as the UK - 230V 50Hz. You won't require a Xbox One Australian power supply. All you'll need is a simple adapter for the plug.

    European Power Supply

You can't just buy a German power supply for the original xbox one from the USA as that will literally make the console explode.

The xbox one S has a universal power supply for 110v 60hz AND 220v 50hz so you just need a plug adapter for that to work but the regular xbox one will need a transformer.

For the xbox one original you will need a power converter from 110v 60hz to 220v 50hz. Some adapters only do the voltage and not the frequency (50hz/60hz) so make sure you get the right one.

So for the xbox one S you only need a plug converter but you will need a power converter for the xbox one original.
