    I misunderstood the new gamer tag naming scheme


    When I applied my name change I thought they switched to a system similar to battle.net and discord where everyone has an identifying number to their name. I didn’t realize it was because my name was taken. I’m okay with paying for the extra change, but
    it wasn’t entirely clear to me the first time around.

    can't ya delete game, get new gamer tag, sign up with elite with new gamer tag/email, then run game and you should have stats under a new name????

    Yes...I get that image...and have tried that. But, it is not letting me change my gamer name to my old name....

    I appreciate all your help...but, I think part of the problem is with the set up that Best Buy did.....

    I think I will just wait a few days...give my brain a rest.....and try again...

    Non-use....is not the problem. I play daily.

    However....it doesn't matter.....I have tried everything that has been suggested.....so, like I said, I give up...and will start over.

    Again....thanks for all the input and suggestions.

    When I picked up computer......I had Best Buy do the set up.

    So....when we were setting up Microsoft stuff...I could not remember my password...so I had to set up a new account/password.....I think that is the problem.....because I can't access Microsoft on the new laptop unless I use the new info. It won't recognize
    my old info.
