I messed up when my autistic brother got his xbox 360

So, my younger brother got his xbox a few years ago and he was overjoyed, personally I'm a Sony fan, but each to their own right?

Anyway, when making his xbox live account I decided to just use my own, however I had already had an xbox live account connected to my microsoft account, I was with this girl at the time and we just decided on the spot to use her email address, that was the
big mistake, we broke up a few months after that and now I NEED to use this old xbox live account. I have all the details, I can access it all on my computer easily, but for some reason, I cant on his xbox, this is really REALLY frustrating me, and I have
no idea how to use an xbox, call me a noob or an idiot if you will, but I need help with this.

I dont want to just restore the xbox to factory settings, or my brother would lose games that hes downloaded on the other account, is there a way to just wipe all the account information and keep everything on the hard drive?

I would really appreciate some help here guys, asap, if you've got autistic friends and siblings you know how obsessive they can be and I really want to get this done for him.

SOMETHING REALLY STRANGE IS HAPPENING!

Actually, yes, I did have my brother recover his profile on my Xbox 360 HDD. Ever since everything's been messed up. Could there be some kind of a connection here?

 

Xbox 360 to xbox one gamertag problem

so, my little brother (who previously had a xbox 360) got an xbox one over christmas,

When we were setting it up on boxing day, we couldn't remeber his accounts password, so we set it up using my account. Figuring we could add his account (and thus his xbox live) when we remebered his password.

Today we did remember. But when we signed him in, it was a completely different account, different name, and no xbox live gold subscription (he had 5 months remaining )

Anyone got some help?

I have two suggestions:

One of them is to format a USB Drive and transfer his gamertag onto the other console. This can be done by following instructions here:

support.xbox.com/.../move-your-profile-to-another-console-using-a-flash-drive-or-memory-unit

Otherwise, I would suggest to move your brother's xbox account from your ex-girlfriend's account and onto a new account that he (or you) has control over. This can be done by following the steps here:

support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

A Microsoft account will be needed, but this does not need to be a @outlook or @live account if he already has an email account with a different provider (This can be done between using the text-switch under the 'username' box)

An account can be made at Microsoft account
