I messed up the license transfer

Ok i have a little bit of a problem. Our household has 2 Xbox 360 consoles. I have one, and my brother has one. We both wanted to buy borderlands the pre sequel and play co op together but did not want to pay 120 dollars if we could do a license transfer
and only pay 60. Before i bought the game from the market, i wanted to know how license transferring worked. I clicked on license transfer and wanted to know a bit more about it so i pressed the continue button. I guess when i did that, it thought i wanted
to actually do one. Okay darn, i was a bit mad but not to worry, my brother can do one. So i bought the game on MY gamertag and console. We thought that the license transfer part where you can not do it again for another 6 months would not show up on his Xbox.
We logged into my gamertag on his Xbox and went to license transfer, and it said we could not do it because i had just done it recently. Is there a way we can still both play co op together through system link? He is currently on my gamertag and downloading
it right now to see if he can at least play it on his Xbox.

Purchasing a new hard drive does not require someone to do a license transfer. A license transfer is only required when you change Xbox 360's. If something isn't working offline that you've purchase and will only work online it's likely that the licenses for
those files are now messed up. You will need to contact phone support and speak with an agent to try and manually fix this.

 

Your brother would have to play it on your console if he wants to be signed into his account. Since you own the game, you can download and play the game on his console as long as you are signed into Live.

 

I would like to just give each other our consoles because it wouldn't make much of a difference but he doesn't want to. Any other way? Will he at least be able to play the game on his Xbox after downloading it from the market place or does it still check
for the license?

 

He would only be able to play it on his console if your account is signed in.

The only other way would be to purchase the game again on his console.

 

So if he was signed into my account on his Xbox, i could still play the game at the same time on my Xbox without being signed out if i am signed into a dummy account? He says he will wait until February to be able to play each other so know i just need to
know if we can play at the same time.

 

Oh and i mean not co op anymore i meant just at the same time. He would also like to know if he could use his own gamertag to have the save game linked to his profile.

 

To play at the same time, he would have to play on your console and you would have to play on his. You cannot be signed into both consoles at the same time and without you signed into his console, he can't access the game.
