Bengal...lol. I think you may take gaming too seriously. I can't believe you really called support to complain that their product was not as strong. Who does that? As for that rep saying what they did( if they did indeed), you may need to take it with a
grain of salt.

My money says you called a rep, an overworked underpaid phone operator supporting a family in a third world country and didn't have a real technical problem, but to complain. They went thru the script with you & when u continued to rant, this guy thought,
" I don't get paid enuff to deal with spoiled little brats with 1st world problems about their video games", then proceeded to tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone...lol. Just IMO.

BTW, I own both. The difference is not noticeable unless ur OCD, which if u are I apologize. In fact the x1 does more from a software standpoint. And use a filter when u read blogs or cites and use your best intelligence. Don't believe everything you read...Cheers.

 

I understand your annoyance bengalbiff, most Xbox owners have felt the same on some level.

Truth is, PS4 isn't 50% more powerful, the GPU on paper is, the system is estimated to be around ~30%. The reveal was very bad PR for Xbox, then on release being $100 more expensive with underperfoming multiplatform games (which I expect is to do more with
unfinished SDKs or rushed to the market). If you follow the trend from launch when most games were sub 1080p, to now where most are hitting 1080p, then parity for most if not all multiplatform games in future is very likely.

The performance difference isn't that important IMO, it's really not that large, and the software side of the Xbox one is unparrelled. Example... Today: Xbox On, boots to TV, Xbox watch BBC1, watch while eating breakfast, Xbox snap IE, read up on some news,
bored so Xbox unsnap, open Media player to stream a TV show [ 1080p MKV btw ] from my PC media server, use Smartglass on my phone whilst watching and view some stuff on xbox activity feed, then Xbox Play DR3, instantly loads into the game where I left off
last night, play for a while, Xbox turn off - everything shuts down.

All that in one is only possible on Xbox One I couldn't do without that 'useless media stuff' now.

 

The instant game resume feature is worth a warehouse load of PS4s! No more coming in and waiting for the 360 to fire up then sitting through loading screens! Heaven!

 

I love it so much that I dust it with a high quality microfiber cloth every day and keep it well ventilated and have a security alarm in my house, and handle it even the controller very gently, just kidding.

What I love, well like... about it, is giving you detailed network stats, how it doesn't abruptly disconnect your from XBL every time there's an Update 360 is guilty of this and getting cut out of XBL Parties, better graphics and Minecraft performs better
this gen that the 360 (takes 1 second max to save, can load a world from scratch which is 36x bigger than 360 version in only around 11 seconds. Loading a standard small world on 360 from scratch takes, well about 22 seconds see the processing difference,
and even on Easy much more mobs spawn due to the increased mob limits since Xbox 1 has more memory to play with and processing power).

And the Kinect and Controller I like-like. Zoo Tycoon looks incredible too and looking forward to Forza Horizon 2 and Halo MCC Halo 5 coming out. That QR code scanning feature with the Kinect is awesome too don't even have to smack it against the Kinect
just raise it a tiny bit from your lap several metres away and Kinect reads it.

 

I love my Xbox One. Just an overall great console.

So you were enjoying the X1 / Madden experience. I don't understand how another piece of tech could affect that. Due to the nature of tech, there is always something better around the corner. Retro gaming is big, are the games any less enjoyable because
better consoles came along? No.

 

I just love gaming and at this moment in time XB1 ticks all of the right boxes with the games released and soon to be released.

 

So I've played it quite a bit and did enjoy it. I admit I may have allowed the hardware thing to bother me more than it should. One reason I enjoyed the 360 so much was having Netflix etc there and easy to access. I guess the X1 definitely has all of
that covered. I just hope there are some really nice games developed in house that take full advantage of it and are a blast to play.

 

Ever since Phil Spencer re-directed the Xbox One development focus to gamers, the XB1 has become exponentially better in such a very short time. Don't get me wrong... I do love the media offerings, but I bought my XB1 for the gaming. I play as often as I
can for as long as I can... ahhh, the Xbox One is pure nirvana!!!

Have: Forza 5, Battlefield 4, Titanfall, Madden 15, NHL 15, Diablo III, Destiny and Minecraft.

Pre-ordered: Shadow of Mordor, The Crew and Halo: Master Chief Collection.

I just got my Day One Edition this Sunday and so far I love everything about it.I used to talk so much crap about before(not in forums but to my friends) about the multimedia,kinect and being able to snap apps while playing.Now I be using of those features
and love how smooth it does it.Out of the box I've had more fun with it than I did with my PS4.

 

How'd you get a D1E so late after the console's release? Was it previously used? Even more importantly, did you get the achievement or is that not possible anymore?

 

I bought mine off ebay brand new and sealed for $450 with shipping included plus also came with a 3 months Live card.Amazon has had Day One Editions for 2 months now,I've been checking everyday since I wasn't sure whether to get that one or the Advance Warfare
edition but decided on the Day One since many have said xbox one is not the same without kinect.On top of that the AW edition was coming out to $553 after taxes and if I wanted to buy a kinect would of been another $150.

I love my Xbox One as well. So far I have Halo: MCC, BF Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, NBA 2k15, and Madden. Loving all my games so far, I bought the console bundle without the Kinect though and I am seriously in debate as whether to purchase one or
not. What do you guys think about Kinect, are you enjoying it or not? I personally think it looks pretty innovative, but just curious what the community thinks about it!

 

Hey Metallifan..you got a great line up of games there but to answer your question about whether to pick up Kinect One or not that's an easy hells yea Mine has been worth it for voice commands alone in and out of games. I have had my One since Christmas
and in that short amount of time my Kinect One has already been a lot more useful than my Kinect 360 ever was and i haven't even tried games on it yet.
