When ever I try to play a game on my Lenovo laptop, like Fortnite, Gang Beasts, MultiVersus, Diabotical, or Fall Guys, its always saying, "Connection Lost, Please check your internet settings". Or "You must have connection to play this game". So what Should I do to fix this?

    :)

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Ben

Please answer the following questions to assist you properly :
When this issue started to happen?
Are you on Windows 10 or 11?
May I know if you tried using a different wifi network to see how it goes?
And, which troubleshooting steps you have done so far to fix this, in that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed.

In the meantime please tell me what's saying next/under NAT type:
Open the Xbox Console Companion app (if you don't have it, look for it on the store) > Settings > Network

If you can wire up your laptop using rj45 cable you might find it works better hard wired as opposed to wireless

    Hi timraw1,

Thanks for your correction, I'm sorry that I may have accidentally ignored this information in my first reply, you had a similar problem when you played Sodoku on Facebook.

Please allow me to restate my view of your question.

If the problem is more than just one game, it means that your device's current network environment may not be stable enough. After all, it is unlikely that all game companies will have a server failure at the same time.

I notice that you have tried a number of network-level troubleshooting solutions, but these solutions require the premise that your current network environment itself is stable, or more clearly, your network provider to provide you with a fiber network must be stable.

If you connect via wired Ethernet and then have this problem, then I'm more biased towards the network itself being unstable. Performing troubleshooting against a network in an unstable network environment doesn't really make a lot of sense.

But if you're connected to a wireless Wi-Fi network (that is, you're connected to fiber, and then you transmit wireless signals through the router, which is then picked up by your computer), then you might want to investigate your router and possibly replace it if necessary.

If you believe the problem to be with Rockstar, why then does my connection with Facebook Games Sudoku suffer the same fate?

    Hello timraw1,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

As a game player too, I understand your frustration at being disconnected from server when you're playing a game.

What you need to understand, however, is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a Microsoft product, and your problem is that the network environment on your device does not seem to be able to establish a stable connection to Rockstar Games' servers.

You should go to Rockstar Games' support website to see if there is a solution, not here.

I did a search in response to your question, and I found some targeted solutions that might work:
