I keep getting kicked out of online games halfway through for no reason

No matter what game I'm playing at some point through the match I'll end up getting disconnected for no reason. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the game, I've tried restarting my console, rebooting the internet, everything. The worst part is it acts as if I willingly disconnected so I'm getting timed out as a result. Is there anything I can do or is it stuck like this forever?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Let's perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

I know you've mentioned that you have already tried to reboot your network connection but following these steps along with with your console will fix the issue.

I started getting this problem yesterday. Thought it was my isp so I called them they came out this morning everything is fine. Still getting kicked from matches halfway through....

Today I was halfway through my first match of the night and it kicked me out and banned me for quitting too many times.

Just go into your router and turn the firewall off. Turn back on when surfing online. Should you HAVE to do this? No, but it will work.

the problem is that people abused the kicking feature. hosts would kick people for no reason at all. that happend to me a lot at first. i enter a game and get kicked right away for no reason. take red dead redemption for example. as soon as i a join a game,
kicked. then i gotta go through all the loading screens to log out of a game, search for a new game and join another new game. just to get kicked again the second i join. something had to be done, so the kicking feature was removed over time. don't get mad
at microsoft and game makers for removing the kicking feature. get mad at the people that abused it.
