I keep getting Disconnected from Xbox Live.

I used to play on my Xbox 360 all the time but then all of a sudden I couldn't play 1 game of bo2 without it Disconnecting me from Xbox live. I can only play a private session in GTA 5 but that doesn't last long. I haven't paid for Xbox live in a while now.
I haven't turned it on in weeks. I really wish I could use it again. My router is about 2 feet away from my Xbox and I use a wireless connection. Please help.

After about half an hour on xbox live it sais disconnected from xbox live.

It could be an issue with the wireless connection. If the router is only 2 feet away why not try an ethernet cable and see how things go?

 

Try rebooting your router(unplug power cord wait at least 30 seconds then plug back in) and while waiting for your router to reboot power cycle your Xbox(hold power button until completely shut down then unplug the power cord for at least 30 secs then plug
back in and power up). Then test it out and all should be good hopefully.

Your router runs its on software and is like any other device it needs to be reset from time to time to clear the cache and sometimes things just freeze up in the routers program. Hope some of this helped you and you get your issue resolved.

 

Ok so I plugged in an Ethernet cable into my router and connected it to my Xbox 360, then I unplugged the router and plugged it back, so I tried to go into GTA online and I got disconnected before I even got into a game. So then I unplugged my router for
a couple minutes and unplugged my Xbox for a minute or two, then I tried to join a GTA session again and it loaded but after about a minute I got disconnected. Please help, I don't think I will ever be able to play Xbox again

 

Can you please run a test at www.speedtest.net and post the results here (Ping, Download and Upload)?

 

Yeah speedtest would be helpful the minimum is 3 mbps dl .5 upload and anything better the 150 ms ping

 

Ok so I did the test at www.speedtest.net, and the results were

Ping:26ms

Download speed:8.81Mbps

Upload speed:11.04Mbps

 

Have you tried deleting your gamer profile and re downloading it? Also have you checked your routers firmware to make sure its up to date?

Have you tested it multiple times to see how consistent it is? If at points its dropping below the minimum it will kick you offline. May just be your router altogether.

 

Have you contacted your ISP to see if there may be an issue on their end?

 

I tried deleting my Gamer Profile before and it didn't work. I don't know how to test anything with the routers. (Im only 14)

 

You may want to ask your parents if they put a timer on the console.

 

Yeah I would get with your parents then see if they are having any issues with other devices. They may need to contact your isp if so.

 

I set up the Xbox all by myself. My parents never even touched it so they didn't do anything to it. I use my mom's phone sometimes and it works well, she never has any complaints. I have an iPod that has no internet problems. The computer that I'm using
right now never disconnects or anything. Its only my Xbox.
