    For the past two or so weeks I've been having a major issue with my xb1. It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to xbox live every few seconds. I've tried the Port Forwarding and DHCP Reservation fixes but no change. I've tried restarting in both Instant-On
    and Energy Saving modes; no change there. I've tried wired and wireless connections, makes no difference (it is currently wired to the router). Tried playing a game today knowing these issues were occurring and I eventually got kicked out of the game to the
    dashboard. The game was FIFA 16 and it was a digital copy. I have no idea what else to do. I am literally unable to play my xbox.

    What Country/State/Province do you live in? - United States, Tampa, FL

    Modem Brand & model number: Arris TG1672G

    Router brand & model number: same as above (its both a modem and router in one)

    How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?: Just my xbox one and PS4 in terms of consoles.

    Wired or Wireless (for each console): Xbox One (wired), PS4 (wireless)

    *Things you have tried: DHCP Reservation and Port Forwarding via router settings, resetting console in both Instant-On and Energy Saving Mode, plugging ethernet cord into all different ports available on back of router (there are four), connecting console
    wirelessly (complete with resetting in both aforementioned modes), signing out of and into profile at moments it connects and disconnects.

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown: No

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?: No NAT errors, but it changed from Open to Strict last night (on both wired and wireless connections)

    Any Error Codes you encounter: No error codes ever come up. The only one to ever come up was the console suggesting that my gateway might not be set up for DHCP when I try to test connection at a moment when it has disconnected.

    Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider): Bright House Networks

    * The very last thing I tried was manually entering the connection settings (IP address, subnet mask, etc). It seemed to stay connected when I did that, but I'm not sure if it is permanent. Also the NAT type was still Strict. I will check it again tonight
    to see if the problem still persists. It has seemed to resolve itself many times after resetting the router, only for the problem to eventually resurface.

  6. Arris TG1672G and Bright House Networks have by FAR had more problems with this than anybody and that Arris TG1672G even worse , one poster on here said the Brighthouse tech came out and gave him a new modem which fixed the problem , just by chance the
    brighthouse tech also had an xbox doing the same thing and had replaced his own router just a few days before ....you could try and put that arris in bridge mode and see if it still persists but I would call your isp as they should be aware of this by now

    That's crazy ... I'm in Tampa, FL and also have that modem and ISP. I'm having the EXACT same problem! And yes, it's been about the past two weeks for me as well!! Wow

  9. Tampa is where the guy I was talking about was from .... he says its good now with the new modem , BUT a better option imo , is to just give them back their equipment , they are probably charging you at least $10.00 a month to "rent" that gateway , that's
    $120.00 a year ! Nertgear modem ONLY and Netgear router (cheapie wrn2000 both together are less than a hundred bucks ) is a FAR superior setup for xbox live...imo....most gateways just don't handle the traffic as well as a router only can , people have nat
    issues (moderate , to open to strict) and all kinds of other issues ... some never do though ...

  10. one other thing I will say about my setup , people who come over and don't even think they have problems and that theirs works fine cant believe when they see how fast getting into a MP game is on mine , Halo or starwars , black opp III , matchmaking is
    FAR superior , they are like "mine will start a match , then cancel , then restart , then people drop out " stuff like that... and my internet isn't that great 15 down 1.5 up ...

    @h1tNrun420, for now, I would suggest just trying to do what I did and enter all the connection settings manually. Also, just to cover bases, do Port Forwarding and DHCP Reservation (links below) because I set those up as well when attempting to fix the
    problem.

    @XalechimThe14th - May I ask if you've (while having Port Forwarding enabled) disabled UPnP? For two good reasons. One being that UPnP tend to overwrite manually configured port forwarding. The second reason might just be the way UPnP is being implemented
    on the Arris TG1672G. Where UPnP on this device do not longer work in conjunction with the Xbox One and its latest OS update.
