I JUST WANNA PLAY MINECRAFT WITH MY FRIENDS, MAN: "You cannot play online multiplayer through ...

Here's a doozy for ya:

I download Minecraft on my Xbox One. I try to log on to my friend's realm. I can't. I get the error message: "You cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety
settings on Xbox.com"

That's really vague, so I turn to Reddit and find this (How to configure a kid’s account to use a Realms? : realms
) handy article that lists specific settings to change. I do that. I doesn't work. I mess around changing various settings, restarting my console, and nothing works. I finally get to the point where I can't think of anything else to try so I open the Microsoft
virtual agent. I try typing my problem but end up choosing "Troubleshoot chat and multiplayer connection on Xbox Live" since that seems like the most relevant choice. None of the things it asks me to do work, so it links me to a human being. He was awesome
and friendly and I hope he gets a raise. But he basically told me to try the same things. Switch all my privacy and safety settings to "Everyone" and "Allow". Doesn't work. We try checking my internet connection (it's fine) and my multiplayer connection (it's
also fine). The poor guy feels so bad he points me in the direction of some sick free games like Fortnite I could try instead. I appreciate that but I just wanna play Minecraft with my friends man.

From what I can tell MANY people have been experiencing this problem since 2017. And NO ONE has found a permanent solution. Not even the tech guy could figure it out! Someone solve this right freaking now or I'm going to walk into Microsoft and sit on everyone
till it is fixed!!!

Problems with online multiplayer.

When I try to play online with friends on minecraft. It says I cannot play online due to my account settings. I checked the online privacy settings and it says I should have access to online multiplayer. Whats going on.

 

Unable to “play online multiplayer through Xbox live”

I get an error message when joining friend’s realms on Minecraft stating that “you cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com”.

I own my account, and all I do is play multiplayer online games. Nothing on my privacy settings is blocked as far as online content/interaction.

Why is this just a problem with Mojang?

Usually that means you have registered a child account and your parental account needs to give permits for you to play online
