    I am hoping seriously that this is just rumors and not true. Having a huge Xbox and 360 collection, this is the main reason I've been trying for an Xbox Series X without paying scalpers pricing. With as much as this had been touted in all of the advertising and news before and after launch, this would be a SERIOUS backstab to the Xbox community who has yet to get one due to the scalpers. I still have my original Xbox, my 360, and I've had 2 different Xbox One's, with the One being the smallest library I have. I was honestly looking forward to playing these old games again even without any inhancement. Just the idea of playing them again without having to play the cable game and cable adapter game on the Series X is one of the PRIMARY reasons I want the Series X over the PS5 and wasnt even considering the competition.

    With a huge original Xbox and Xbox 360 library, PLEASE say that backwards compatibility isnt being dropped before more people even get their hands on one outside of the scalpers!!!!!!!!

    You've read this where my I aak?

    Officially it's on hold. Unofficaly it does look like it's been shelved. The BC team are currently working on FPS boost for Series X|S.

    The biggest issue with BC for 360 and original games is the difficulty and the time it takes to make a game BC. Developers didn't do any of the work, it was all done by a small team of engineers who took each game, stripped them down and recompiled them to work on totally different hardware.

    It was a massive endeavour, and for the most part MS made hardly any money on it.

    What they’re trying to say is that new titles are not being added, but existing support isn’t going anywhere.

    All support for original Xbox games was discontinued in 2010 and they stopped adding to the backwards compatibility list in 2007.

    No. You own a 9 year old console. If you're really that hard up then just buy a refurbished or used console. And no apology needed. I get it. This is why I opt to do things myself. You know what they say, if you want something done, you best do it yourself

    But yeah, just buy a used console from a normal place. Like Gamerobbers...I mean Gamestop.
