i just had my gamer tag forced changed, without notice. i cant even change it to a new tag of my choosing. so, for now its QuickBunny... agent on the phone said, thats how they do it now. no warning or notice, xbox just changes the gamer tag to whatever
they want. anyway, just wanted to check if '[MOD REMOVED]" would be ok before i spend the $10. thanx in advance for any responds.

So my gamer tag was changed today without any warning and now I must pay $10 to change it? The support guy I spoke with referred me to ambassador s saying they could inform me about this forced change. Seems like extortion to demand $10 without any notice
. I will change but don't understand how this can be forced on me with no warning.

I'm sure something like this had happened before but I'm new to the forum. My gamer tag was changed to done random tag without my knowledge. Does anyone know why and how to correct this without the absurd charge microsoft implements?

That name is clearly against the Code of Conduct and I recommend NOT changing it to it. The reason you were force changed to this name is because you had an inappropriate gamertag. Continuing to use inappropriate gamertags will result in a permanent account
ban.

 

Your warning is the code of conduct that you agreed to when you purchased your membership. It states very clearly not to register an offensive gamertag and the action that will be taken if you do. xTye is very correct on that gamertag being offensive, and
the fact that continued registering of offensive names will end up in an account ban. Your best bet is to keep it clean.

 

not everyone would find [MOD REMOVED] offensive. infect, after years of playing on-line shooters, only comment that i ever got about the name has been that its funny. i do get what you guys are saying tho. only takes one person, right?
[MOD REMOVED] wasn't the name that got changed, but it was something similar. still, i guess ill have to change it to something else. thanks for responding. hows FatBlackCat?

 

Sorry, but we can not screen names for you. What it comes down to, is that if you have any idea that the name might be offensive, don't use it.
