I insert the disk and i makes grinding/clicking sounds and will not load.

I put my Xbox game disk in and it makes a grinding sound and wont eject the disk

 

Day One Xbox - Disk Drive Issue.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately, I insert a disk and it makes grinding sounds as if its eating the disk up, have to do that like 5 times for it to even read the disk. I'm gonna have to call to see if they can replace it which is probably gonna take forever
and a day. Really disappointed with Microsoft

 

Mine does it too sometimes.

 

Mine was doing this at the weekend, on Monday I got a black screen and the console is dead!

I'm truly sorry to hear about the odd noises that your Xbox One is making. Just to be super sure, are you guys

positioning your Xbox One console horizontally? If so, I would next suggest trying out these troubleshooting steps.

• If there is currently a disc in your Xbox One, eject it.
• Power Cycle your Xbox One console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will power down.
  
• Once your console is completely off, unplug the console from the power source and give it a few minutes.
  
• Then, plug all the cords back in and turn the console back on.
  
• Now try inserting a disc and see if the grinding/clicking noises continue.

Why is that the answer for EVERY. SINGLE. PROBLEM that comes up on the system?

 

Try this. When inserting your disc into the disc drive don't let it go in right away hold it in place while its trying to pull the disc in for a second then let go of the disc. My Xbox will not register a disc is in the drive at all unless I do this. I'm
guessing it's a disc drive misalignment. Easiest way to do this is stick your finger through CD disc hole let it sit for 1 sec while making noise to pull disc in (do not let it pull it in right away) then after second pull finger out of disc hole and let the
disc get pulled in. Trust me it works.

 

I had the same problem, not reading discs, disc drive making all sorts of noises, having to eject the disc and insert it over and over, and my disc drive finally quit working today. My suggestion is to get it fixed while it's still under warranty because
if it's making noise now it's only a matter of time before it quits. Another tip, don't bother with the online chat support call the 1800 number. I was on for two hours with the chat team and got nowhere. Twenty minutes on the 800 number and my issue was resolved.
Again get it fixed NOW!
