I hit avoid me rep for a second time now.

So after being avoided once, contacting enforcement on the forums, I'm pretty sure they fixed my rep after my post. It went from avoid me to "good" suddenly a few days after my post. Then after a few games it was back to needs work, and now i'm at Avoid
me again.

I've literally went back to avoid me solely based on cheating reports, this time i kept track of the reports i got from my last one to most recent ones. I went from 35 cheating to 48 in 2 weeks of gameplay on BF4. This is seriously frustrating. I'm being
punished for being good at a video game? total tally count is 48 cheating, 17 unsporting, 6 message, 4 voice. I don't even use my freaking microphone. It's still in my xbox box. How can people make false reports for things you're not even doing?

The first thing I would do is check there. If the common complaint is cheating then you are probably just being reported for playing a "non-meta character" that has people upset. The reputation system is designed to be resilient to abuse. So a ton of people just negging you for no reason shouldn't affect your reputation. Of course nothing is immune to issues but you have fallen through 3 levels of less then awesome feedback to get to "avoid me".

My suggestion is that you start using the mute and block functions to avoid playing with people who trigger behaviours that get you reported. If someone's says something nasty or sends you a message, block and report instead of firing back. What is very possible is that you are getting reported by people for saying things that are being provoked by the people who are reporting you.

The Trove thing likely won't work. In the same way they have tools built in to prevent abuse of using negative feedback I'm sure they thought about using games like Destiny or Trove that have hubs to build reputation back up artificially. If Overwatch brings out the worst in you try legitimately playing another game with similar levels of interaction, like Rainbow 6 Siege for a while.

My personal trick is if I want to curse someone out I mute my mic and do it. I don't get reported, I get to curse them out everyone wins. Overwatch and games like it can provoke that feeling but you simply have to find a mature way to deal with it.

As an aside I can't support any conclusion with my experience that the rep system is subject to serious abuse. I play a fair number of games and don't have a single report against me in the last 6 months. I generally find people on Xbox Live to be decent people, to the point that I can remember most of the negative experiences I've had over the last several months because they stand out to me as a rare experience.

This is the code of conduct for Xbox Live, you agreed to it when you signed up and enforcement can be swift and brutal. If your negative communication with others encourages self harm, implies threats or is just generally very unpleasant the next steps will likely involve timed communications or multiplayer bans since your rep is bottomed out.

I don't want to sound preachy, but understanding how the system works, what you agreed to, how you act, and what sort of coping methods you can use are the best way out of this.

 

"Avoid me" reputation

Your Reputation status is driven by player feedback, not by MS. If everyone blocks ,avoids or reports you your Rep. Takes a hit. You must have angered quite a few people to get an avoid me Rep.

Rep also determines who you will be paired against when playing online.

I'm in a similar situation. I had checked the enforcement page after playing many multiplayer matches and I said I was a good player. Then I went on xbox one and it said my profile was in avoid me. Then I got back to the enforcement page and it says I'm
in avoid me. It is a bug that you are in. To try to get you rep up, try to join someone's game from you recent player list. This might work. This glitch has something to do with your profile on the enforcement page not being in sync with your profile on the
xbox one. Also, it might have to do with the message that xbox sends you saying that your rep has fallen to avoid me or needs work. This message might trigger your rep to go down even if it should go up. This message should expire 1 month after you receive
it. I hope Xbox fixes this bug
