I have xbox live but won't let me play says I need gold but in a have a year subscription

No, didn't work. Still not able to get a new subscription. I looked at my bank account and it was renewed last last year in May. There is no charge this year for Xbox Live on there, yet my Xbox says I have a Gold subscription and won't let me get one for
my account. And it's always automatically recurred by itself, I've never had this issue in the past.

I think i figured it out, my xbox live subscription ran out between getting the game and letting it download and booting it up to play it. apparently my xbox games with gold won't let me play in between gold subscriptions. I wanted to do some single-players
while on gold hiatus for a few days, but that won't let me.

Sorry to hear it. Xbox One Games with Gold games do require a Gold membership in order to continue playing them. If your membership expires you'll either need to purchase the game or continue on with a new membership.

Xbox 360 Games with Gold games are your to keep regardless of your membership status.

I still have Xbox gold because it won't let me repurchase it but when I try and play online it says i need a gold membership, any ideas on how to get it to recognize that I actually have gold?
