    I have two xbox 360 wired controllers, but P2 is not working


    I have two xbox 360 wired controllers, each one works just fine if you only use one controller, but when they both connected to the PC, P2 controller will not work.(you plug one controller first, the second one will not work, if you plug the other one first,
    the rest will not work) I go to Control Panel--Devices and Printers, it shows 2 controllers, and each one's status is ok, and I open 360ce, It shows 2 controllers, but P2 controller is not working. I'v searched the internet, and cant find a solution, is there
    any one can help me? it tortured me a lot, thank you very much

    2 Wired Controllers both "Sync" in the 1st Position (or as Player 1)

    Two USB wired microsoft xbox360 controllers on the xbox 360 slim with kinect are synchronizing to the same player, so one of the controllers is unusable. The latest synchronized controller is always winning. If I unplug and plug in the not working controller
    that one wil work again and the other one is not working anymore.

    On a PC with Windows 7 both controller are working fine with different players.

    The XBOX360 slim is not broken, nor the two wired controllers.

    To help Microsoft to solve this problem I need an answer how the XBOX detects the wired controllers?

    a) Use the connected USB port as reference?

    b) Use the USB chipset of the controller as reference?

    c) Use the serial number of the controller as reference?

    Both wired controllers have the same chipset and serialnumber. The are from the same productione batch.

    Nothing wrong with wired controllers fella I have two xbox 360 wired controllers, but P2 is not working :). People are not here to judge you anyway, they are here to help.

    So Just to clarify even if you have both controllers plugged in together only one will sync to P1?, and the P2 light does not light up at all.

    I am not sure if it counts with wired controllers (probably not) but have you tried using the sync buttons on the pads and console at all?. Most likely does not apply to wired pads though.I have two xbox 360 wired controllers, but P2 is not working :(

    Hey there .

    Have you tried plugging the controllers into different USB ports on your Xbox 360 S to see if there is any change in connection? They shouldn't both be connecting to Play 1, be sure they're signed into different profiles when connecting to Xbox Live.
    Yes I tried various ports and I also tried to connect in various orders such as Player 1 (P1) - Wired Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and Signed In, P2 = Wireless Xbox 360 Controller and Signed In but when connecting the third one for P3 - Wired Xbox 360
    Controller for Windows it assigns as P1 and takes control away from the first assigned controller.

    Also, the old xbox controllers have a different button scheme than the 360 so I do not believe it would work.
    It's not just that. The original XBOX controller is essentially a USB hub with three downstream devices - two MU slots
    and the controller itself.



    Not sure why he'd want to use a 360 controller with an original XBOX. S-type XBOX controllers are pretty common and less expensive than a wired 360 controller.

    !!!IMPORTANT!!! HI xbox forums, quite interesting - i tried two old (white) wired controllers with the xbox, and they work fine!? i guess the new model black controllers aren't 100% compatable with old xbox 360 models!!!

    I have exactly the same problem : two wired black controllers on my slim xbox 360 and they both show up as player 1 (the second wired works, the first one is blocked)
