I have two gamertags on one profile. So confused...

I changed my gamertag today but used my 360 to do it. I then signed in on my One afterwards and have the new name but it's underneath the one I changed from on my profile, so I have two being displayed. Anyone have any idea why?

It shows only the new name on the website & app and when I play games, it's the new one! Is this a server issue or something? I already did the obvious remove and re-add the profile.

Did you change the gamertag or your account name? The name that it shows below the gamertag on the console is your name.

Sorry to hear it. This is more than likely a glitch because you did the change on the 360 instead of the One. It may take up to 48 hours for the change to fully reflect on the account.

In the meantime you can try deleting your gamertag and then redownloading it on the Xbox One to see if that helps.

In order to play Backwards Compatible titles on your Xbox One you'll need to follow the steps at the link below to delete/redownload your tag from the BC menu

I only changed the gamertag on 360. I have my actual name and two gamertags on the Xbox One. One old, one new, on the same profile.

Thanks for getting back. They do have different profiles and gamertags. What tends to happen is that one will start playing, then the other will come and watch. The XBox notices the second one and logs them in using Kinect. So we tend to end up with two
or three people 'logged in' although only one is the active user at the time. Could this be confusing the game ?
