I have to reset my router every time I turn on my Xbox in order to Connect to Xbox Live

Every time I turn on my Xbox now, the only way I can connect to Xbox Live is to reset my router. No other device in my home has this problem. I can be online with multiple devices and still the Xbox won't connect unless I reset my router. It looks like
Xbox has been having this issue going back as far as 2011! I can't find a single workable answer in any of the other threads. 7 years, multiple consoles and still no one has an answer for this? I'm at my wits end and so any help is much appreciated. I've
tried everything else I can think of including a factory reset of my router and hardwiring the Xbox directly into the Router via Ethernet.

Why isn't it connecting?

Every time I turn off my Xbox when i turn it back on i have to reset my router every time for it to connect to live. After i reset my router everything is just fine, but i play battlefield 4 and gta v a lot so i freeze a lot, so every time i freeze and i
turn my Xbox back on it doesn't connect to live. It takes a long time and it eventually says that i need to connect to live. So i have to go into the other room and reset my router and this is about 4 times a day at least. Any suggestions?

Cant connect to Xbox Live on Xbox after playing on Windows live games on PC.

Every time I want to play on my xbox after playing on my PC I cant connect to xbox live. I have been resetting my router every time to resolve this problem. Is there a better solution? I find it outragous that I would have to reset my router everytime I
switch from pc to xbox using same xbox live gamertag.

Thanks for reaching out to us! When it comes to a WiFi connection and the Xbox console, as with any other device, it is possible to lose connection occasionally; however, you should not have to reset your router each time you turn on your console. If you
are connecting wirelessly and have trouble connecting to Xbox Live services (rather than connecting to wifi), I would recommend using our

Xbox One Network Connection solution to pinpoint the issue and resolution. If you don't even see your network to connect to for WiFi, then I'd recommend the wizard that helps when you

can't see your wireless network.

Beyond those solutions, you can also try
port forwarding your console and setting up a static IP and also the Ethernet hardwired connection would solve the issue, as well as improving your multiplayer experience since you would get far less lag.

I had this issue, until I open ports for my xbox. I had to open the ports anyway to enable playing games with other players.

How do i do thia im having the same problem I can't even play any games or anything it keeps saying im not connected yo the internet but everything else works in my home or it days connect to Xbox live over and over help.

Thanks for the response, guys! Yes, I have reset the console settings back to factory specs, but I still have to go through the same steps to get on LIVE.

Basically, this is what I have to do to get live running. And it ONLY works if I follow these steps in this SPECIFIC order...

1. Unplug the power from the Verizon Actiontec Modem/Router (one piece unit). Wait 30 seconds, then power back on. Wait until all connections are restored

2. Run XBOX Live test from the console. Error connection screen pops up.

3. Go to my router's page (192.168.1.1) and "Reset to Factory Settings".

4. Run XBOX Live test again after reset. Error connection screen pops up.

5. Go back to my router's page and enable UPnP, and Open DMZ for XBOX.

6. Run XBOX LIVE test again. This time it signs ON!!!!!

I have to run it in this exact order or it will not work. And believe me, it works every time! I just don't want to do this every time I turn ON the xbox or sign out to another profile and back into my Live profile. Again, every time I turn
off the xbox or leave my LIVE enabled profile, I cannot sign back on until I run the steps above in this order. I just can't figure out why. Any more ideas?

do you got a router? try resetting it. can you get on the internet with your PC?

sometimes I can't get on xbox live myself , I found the problem believe It or not. If I turn my modem & router on and then the xbox in that order I can't connect. what I got to do is turn my modem & router on then wait 5 minutes then turn on the xbox. I
guess it takes a few minutes for the connection to reach it.
