I have to install it again? Really?

I pre-ordered the digital version of GTA V about 3-4 days ago, and I already had it pre-downloaded. It was around 45GB or something like that and I'm not exactly sure how long it took for the install to finish because I had it install overnight, but I assumed
the 45GB download would be the whole game, right? Well I went to see if the game unlocked at midnight, and instead of saying Play it says install, so I assumed that was just the day one patch, but it looks like it's wanting to download the whole game all over
again even though it's already installed. What's the deal? Anyone having this issue? It took 20 mins just to get to 3% install.

Delete and try again, which will be a huge pain considering how large the game is.

so i had to install the game, so i did, it shows that it finished because it went on to start downloading titan fall but when i go on to play NBA2k14 i the game screen says im only at 93% and can only do the quick match, any ideas on what to do?

 

No its not the game its the update im instaling 2 its on 10procent for an hour i dont why they do this

It's installing an update? The PS4 version's patch is only like 2 GB or something like that, I can't imagine why the X1 version would be much more, considering it's taking much longer to download this "update" than it did for the game itself...

 

The only update you should have if you pre-ordered would be a 1Gb* update. If your console is wanting you to reinstall the game then completely shut down your console so no power going to it at all. And reboot back up and this should solve your problem.
If you have already started redownloading the full game this won't work for you.

should have gotten the hardcopy instead...

 

I had it preinstalled and pinned to Home. Woke up, chose the tile from Pins and it launched right away. Must have gotten the patch overnight.

P.S. Thanks for the heads-up RiZE. It would have helped had it not loaded right away.
