I have to download games twice

Ever since the latest xbox one system update, every game I purchase or trial via EA Access needs to be downloaded twice. I purchased Middle Earth the other day and it finished installing on the xbox one that night. THe next day I went to play the game and
it re-showed up in the queue saying it was installing and 0% done. It downloaded the game again, now seems fine.

Then same thing happened with Star Wars Battlefront. I downloaded the full game for the 10 hour trial via ea access, it finished downloading that night (I leave the xbox on during these installs). I know it finished because it was in the my games and apps
and not in the queue. I turned the xbox off. The next day I went to play the game, and it said it was installing it again. It downloaded and installed for a second time and I havent had a problem since.

Why does it need to download 2 times?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice and it still stops to download game data.

Xbox/Windows Phone/GFWL are all separate services and require separate methods of payment.

Can you try power cycling (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) your console and see if that resolves this weird behaviour?

It sounds like the second install may be the game updating. Does it take as long to install the second time as it does the first? When a game is updating, it looks exactly like it's installing

 

It does take as long to install the second time. If I look at the notifications area it shows the download completed one day, then I see many The install has stopped notifications from the next day.

 

Have you already tried the power cycle Maxen13 suggested? If you did, try turning it off and unplugging it for 5 minutes.
