I have the known issue of the motors whining constantly.

The sound starts when the motors first engage and is audible at every intensity, especially at lower power levels. The sound is a high pitched whine that stays at the same frequency no matter how fast the motor spins. Sounds almost like morse code or coil whine. The sound does not appear when vibration is turned off, but I don't consider that a solution to the problem.

I am also getting this issue with my 20 day old Elite controller, except the left rumble motor is what is making the squealing noise for me. I used the Xbox Accessories app to test the inividual rumble motors and it seems like the left rumble is squeaking
worse when I reduce the rumble level to 50% and below.

The noise sounds like the capacitor whine which some graphic cards suffer from.

Definitely a strange sound to be hearing from your controller and definitely not normal. If it's a constant noise I definitely recommend either an exchange at the retailer you purchased from. If they don't have any available for an exchange your next best
option is to set up a repair/replacement over on our
Online Service Center.

Definitely want you to have a fully functioning controller ASAP. Really sorry to hear this is happening for you.

If you don't like it then don't buy it. But at the same time don't act like a complete *** to people who still plan on buying one.
