I have the digital license and the dvd as well

I have recently bought a game *dvd* while I have the same game from a digital copy at the xbox marketplace as well. And while the dvd game was installed. I wasn't able to play the game if the dvd wasn't in the game at all.

When I clicked the digital license game because the dvd wasn't in the tray. It wouldn't work at all... So I would have to delete the dvd copy of the game to reinstall the digital copy of the game. I was searching why it's like that from google. And I found
none why it's like that.

Call of Duty Dual License Confusion.

I have found this but Amazon does not write that in their description, they write the opposite

But what I found on another website was this

Q. When I upgrade from digital download for Xbox 360 to digital download for Xbox One, will my digital Xbox 360 game license be deactivated?

A. No, Xbox 360 game license will not be deactivated. Both game licenses will be retained.

This essentially means that should you buy the license, you will be buying the game for both consoles simultaneously. Sweet idea?

Yup, and most I have also include a digital version.

 

well if you playing the digital version from the marketplace you will not need the disc but if you are playing a version of the game saved to the hard drive from the disc, you will need the disc in there if playing that version of the game, but the marketplace
one a disc is not needed.

 

If you have purchased a game (physical disc) and installed it to your Xbox console, it requires you to still have the disc in to verify ownership of the game, and that it was not pirated.

If you purchased both the disc and a version from the marketplace, then the two games, even though they are the same game, may interfere with each other (with some games, not all).

But why is it like that nVo Fusion? I mean the borderlands 2 dvd has 5.7 for a install. And borderlands 2 marketplace has 5.54 install.

If I install the markplace borderlands 2 game has 5.54 install. Then play it on the dvd. The dvd would be running still as i'm playing the game from the dvd, even though the game was installed from marketplace. If the dvd game was installed then I played
borderlands2 the dvd wouldn't be running.

Now if I installed the dvd game of borderlands 2 and woke up wanted to play the game with out the dvd as I have the license on my account. I'm unable to. Same license but different format. That's why the markplace borderlands 2 5.54 install is different
then 5.7 install from the dvd format.

What you are saying makes more sense, I had the problem I was telling you about myself with a few games, for some reason they were the same format, I guess it a was a bug they fixed, maybe. But the first part of what I said is true in all instances.

 

It's a bit of an odd system, but it comes down to them being different files from each other (hence differing sizes) but the console thinking it's the same game on the hard drive without paying attention to the format, so they end up conflicting with each
other and cannot both be installed at the same time.

You might be happy to know that they resolved this on the Xbox One. The disc-installation and marketplace-download files are the same there and it works much better.

 

They still could of fix it from the xbox 360. The format of the install should of been the same.
