I have someone else's gamertag associated with my email? on xbox app, not console, it's OK I'm playing right now. I forgot my password so created a new one to get on xbox app. On the app there is a thing that says gamertag management but it won't open. Its in settings. It had my whole name and email but someone else's gamertag?

I understand you need help with your account problem.

Did you just create an account recently? If so, you may be getting a default gamertag for the first creation of your account.

no one else can have the same gamer tag as you so there is no way for them to have suspended someone else with the same gamer tag.

you may want to double check the email address that is associated with your gamer tag that is the email address that they would have sent the email to.

if you are on a xbox one you can check what email is associated with your account by signing into the account and going to settings and under the account tab and go to sign in security and passkey and it will tell you there what email is associated with
that particular gamertag.

Hi there, Thanks for the response, although the email I think is associated with the account isn’t mine or someone else’s. Is there any other way or is there no more way to recover my account? Can contacting Xbox Support help? I can search up my gamertag on Xbox.

I have tried the link above but it was a no go.

Someone else have taken my old email address.

I dont care about the email address but what I want now is my XLID back...

I cant go online and all of my purchases are associated with that XLID.

Anyone can help me?

The backup email address for the Xbox isn't working either. Why can't someone simply just pull up the GAMERTAG that had an xbox live subscription and look at the name and the associated emails with it and send a code to verify identity? All of that belongs to me.
