I have some issues with my controller.

I’ve had 2 controllers for an Xbox One S that have been working perfectly for the past three years. Now, one started emitting a burning smell, and after going out on the Internet, I figured out I can’t use that controller anymore.

Now the second controller, burns through a set of brand new batteries in less than 45 minutes. I dont know why this happens, but the thing that shows the remaining battery level- doesn’t even show the battery level, it just says plugged in, even though I
don’t have any cables connected to either the console or the controller. And then, after approx. 30 minutes of play on a brand new set of batteries, the controller starts vibrating like crazy. I turn off the controller to stop the vibration, and then when
I turn it on again, it doesn’t. And the controller doesn’t work when I plug it into the Xbox too.

Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Xbox Support and select Hardware for further assistance via telefone or webchat.

I have one of my controllers that got updated to this release, and now is having some strange issues. Right now the controller will not power on via the Xbox button. If I power it on via USB, then it functions normally in both wired and wireless mode.

This is my only controller on this release, and the only one exhibiting this issue. Hopefully there will be a patch that resolves some of the strange mapping issues?

To clarify, the game install and download didn't finish installing it froze up everything. I had to hold to power button to restart it. Then the external hard drive disappeared and the issues started.

I was trying to replicate you issue but in my PC the battery for the Elite series work as expected

Let's try to isolate the problem a bit more:

A. Reinstall your bluetooth adapter driver using the manufacturer website

B. Reinstall your controller driver:

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager > search something like Xbox controller category (or similar) > expand the category using the little arrow (">") > select delete/uninstall driver

Click OK, restart your PC and reconnect the controller.

C.Reinstall/Update the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator driver.

You can do it following previous steps, but now select Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator.

Can take a while, would be great to wait up to 15 minutes before trying again
