You can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and from there make sure that these settings are set to “allow” or “everyone”:

* You can see and upload community creations

* You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

* Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

* You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

* You can create and join clubs

* You can join multiplayer games

Make sure to hit “submit” when you made any changes.

I am trying to play multiplayer on the Xbox S, more specifically cross-platform play. I do not have Xbox live, but I don't need it to play. When I try to join it says that "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up"
but all of my privacy settings allow online gaming and multiplayer gaming. My account is also an adult account so it's not like I need permission. I tried everything, restarting my console and router as well as talking to the virtual agent. All of my settings
give permission and I just don't know what the problem is.

Sorry about double post. Apparently I don't have permission to edit my own post.

Are you using the account you're posting under to try to play online? If so, you are trying to play multiplayer (gold only) on a silver level account. If that's the case, then you haven't been suspended, you just need a gold subscription.

What exactly is happening when you try and start a party or join a multiplayer game (both require gold)?

Does it say you need to purchase gold?

Does it say that this account does not have permission to start a party or are you getting any sort of error message?
