Racing wheels are made by multiple manufacturers and the one I used with my 360 worked fine with a headset. Logitech racing wheel with pedals. Check with the manufactures documentation for it.

I have the logitech g923. But when I unplug the wheel it still gets the same problem.

The only open world racing game on Series X which supports the Logitech G920 steering wheel, pedals, and shifter is Forza Horizon 5. Other open world games such as The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2 support the wheel and pedals but not the shifter.
