I have literally inherited an Xbox, but can't play the games.

Last year, my best friend died but left his console collection to me which includes the Xbox Series S. The night before he died, we were chatting through our gaming collections and he wanted me to play the games that he had. However, when I signed in on my own Microsoft account, it says that it needs the original purchaser to log in to let me play. I don't have the password, nor would there be a risk to his privacy because his bank accounts etc. have long been shut down. I'm not family and do not want to bother his widow by asking her to try and guess what his password might have been. Will Microsoft be able to help me with this?

Unfortunately no. Since he is the owner of the games, they are tied to his account. There would be no way to transfer ownership and without his account information there would be no other way to access his games.

I literally have proof that I purchased minecraft at a later date and I can still play some Xbox live games while I can't play others. I am still able to buy games which im not allowed to play. Like I said I didn't have a xbox at the time the supposed account phishing from me happened.
Why would I lie about this when I literally have proof and is something that Xbox support itself could check...
I was allowed to play minecraft a couple months ago, with my microsoft account which is banned on xbox, now I can't.

i would have to say the worst game i played on xbox would be the scrabble game because its unplayable you can't get past the intro screen without it bugging out, literally a game breaking glitch.

They refused to refund me. I literally wasted $60 and can't even play the game.

there is something on your pc called "inherited permissions" you should check that in order to unistall microsoft games for windows

plus I check those inherited permissions on what file / folder? and I leave it enabled or disabled?
