I have gold membership but I can not play online (xbox one s)?

I have been told that this is due to the trial membership. Have you tried playing games that you purchased online? Vs playing games that you got free with the Live trial. I have found that the 360 games are not free on the trial either, a little disappointing.

So while your Gold account can enable the Silver members of your family to play online on an Xbox One. If those accounts were on a 360 they would still only be Silver and thus suffer all the restrictions of that membership level.

If you are playing on an Xbox One console then one person can share the Gold membership. However, each player would need to have a membership in order to play online on the 360.
