    ..........

Hello everyone I have decided not to upgrade to 4K :)

    ........

After comparing 1080p and 4K resolution, I have decided not to upgrade into the Xbox One S and Xbox One Scorpio because I thought that the graphical difference between 1080p and 4K wasn't that big of a leap.

    .......

It is a MAJOR difference when comparing 240p (480i) and 1080p.

    ........

Is anyone else going to wait until there is a MAJOR difference between 1080p and the next boost in resolution is here?

    ........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone I have decided not to upgrade to 4K :)

    .........

    :)

My TV does not support 4K, but my AV receiver does. How can I get 4K with my Xbox One S?

    Hi

If your television does not support 4K then you will not be able to view content in 4K on it and you will need to upgrade your television to one that does.

    X1 and 4K...

Amazon had a heck of a deal on a 49" 4K LED tv I could not pass up. I know there is very limited 4K content broad cast right now but I did upgrade my Netflix to the Ulta HD package. Now will I get the 4K through my X1 Netflix of will I have to watch via
my Netflix on the TV to get the ultra HD???r

Big difference between 1080p and 4K, provided you have the right T.V./Monitor and the media to to make it shine.

Not in a hurry myself to purchase a 4K T.V.. I'll revisit the issue when the Scorpio comes out next year.

    Peace, J.R.

The difference is huge. Like D33dles said you need the right TV and media. I saw a 4k TV with Toy Story playing on it and my jaw was on the ground.

Also, there are other reasons to buy a Scorpio other than 4k. The graphics should be 10 times better than now and that is even if you keep them at 1080p. Awesome graphics and resolution are 2 different things.

The Scorpio will also give you VR among other things.

  6. I've watched quite a few 4K/HDR movies etc lately and I thought the difference was BIG.

I see similar arguments to the resolution debate now starting between Xbox One and Xbox Slim owners and games. There are a couple of comparison videos on we'll known sites and if you look very hard the Slim games look a tiny bit better but you would have
to go looking hard. What's interesting in a test of Tomb Raider on XB1 and Slim, XB1 could drop from 30fps to around 25/26 fps while the Slim held steady at 30fps but the guy said this is due to the Slims GPU being overclocked, means nothing to me but again
to the normal eye I think it would be VERY HARD to notice the difference

What I've also read from Slim owners that games that had issues with screen tearing on XB1 is now greatly reduced/gone on the Slim. I can't confirm this either way

What I'm interested to see is how games like Forza Horizon 3 with HDR will look compared to the standard version. Again some saying the difference is huge, others only slight. We shall see soon

As for Scorpio, too far off yet but interested to see how it turns out

There's a huge difference when you're watching a DVD and they advertise Blue Ray.

All of a sudden the picture seems much crisper and the sound as well.

This makes Blue Ray look kind of attractive until you realise... hey wait a minute... this is playing on a DVD.

4K should give you a great picture but there's a huge psychological element that people simply don't like to face.

Brandiesel's link to the guy who had XBox ONE, Playstation 4 and High End PC running side by side and asked people to explain the differences summed it up great when he told them which was which, had them expound on the improved textures on the PS 4 and
the superior anti aliasing on the high end PC... and then relealed they'd just seen the exact same thing 3 times in a row on 3 side by side PS 4's.

Yeah you'll probably be able to notice a difference.

No you don't really need to.

^ Absolute rubbish......the difference between DVDs, Blu Rays and 4K is huge, perhaps you should follow your own advice and not believe everything you read on the Internet......

  9. I 100% agree with what a lot of the more well known sites. Most say the higher you go, 700p - 900p - 1080p - 4K ... Then you should go for a bigger screen and sit further back

We recently have got a larger TV, sitting the same distance from the smaller TV we had and I was thinking not much difference. We moved the room around a bit, now we are about 5 ft further from the TV and it became a lot more noticeable.

Now there's often jokes about Specsavers but I'd say to anyone that's just upgraded to a 4K/HDR TV, load up Netflix and load up a film show in HDR/4K , if you don't notice just how better it looks then phone Specsavers and get your eyes checked out

Not having a go but for whatever reason, just don't want one, can't afford one etc etc I think a lot of people that don't have a 4K/HDR TV don't like the thought of others getting a better picture, better experience so they refuse to believe it's better
or try and convince others that it's a waste of time buying one. Not all but there are a few I have decided not to upgrade to 4K ;)

  12. .........

Hello everyone I have decided not to upgrade to 4K :)

    .........

In my opinion, I would have to be as blown away as I was when transitioning from 240p (SD) to 1080p (HD) before I upgrade to 4K.

    ...........

In my opinion, I see the difference between 1080p and 4K. But, the difference for ME is minimal LOL I have decided not to upgrade to 4K :)

    ..........

Also, I would like to add the fact that financial cost is not an issue for me. I could pick-up the Xbox One Scorpio (if it was out now) and buy a 40 inch 4K TV right now if I wanted to.

    ...........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone I have decided not to upgrade to 4K :)

^^ 4k is getting much more cost friendly in my opinion especially compared to a year ago. At least here in Ireland it is and even the UK because I often check British stores because it's just as easy to buy there. I'm not sure about the States though. I
haven't lived at home since 2007. You can a 4k TV here in the €600 to €700 range.

EDIT: This post was meant for ElectroFlying

  14. Theres some great deals on 4K TVs now.

Just check Currys website. Cheapest one I can see is a Toshiba 46 inch for £449.99

I bet if you shop about you can find some great bargains

If you going to use it for Xbox Slim just double double check that the TV supports HDR10 lol I've seen so many people say since the Slim released their TVs don't support it. Either they got older models or their not making 100% sure when buying. Trouble
is ( and I posted before about it ) a lot of shop staff are just not upto scratch knowing what TVs are capatible
