I know this doesn't help much. But I just kept trying the app everyday, and it eventually worked.

My Gamepass app (Android) is unable to find a default Xbox for me to select so I download games from the app. I have been through all the checks suggested in help e.g. settings with the console and these are correct, along with unin/reinstalls of the app
and sign in/out on my Xbox.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Im also have the same issue. I downloaded the app during E3 and try to install games but it kept telling me to select default xbox.

We need to validate first what is the issue. Just a friendly reminder though that all successful transactions are added to our order history in real-time. Can you please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and check if you can see the game transaction 2 times? If yes, you can request a refund by signing in to https://xbox.com/refunds.

If none, you may need to reach out to your bank to dispute the other charge that you received.
